The Amonick family is willing to help with set up.  If you don’t feel comfortable hosting alone, feel free to team up with someone.  Sign up sheets are available at the back of the fellowship hall.  You can also sign up by calling or emailing the church office.   For more information contact Debbie Amonick at damonick2000@verizon.net or 301-648- 6491.

MUSEUM OF THE BIBLE

Wesley UMC is putting together a trip to the Museum of the Bible in DC.   It is Sunday, June 24, from 12 noon to 4 pm.  The bus leaves/returns from Wesley (8412 Richmond Ave).  The cost is $25 per person, which includes bus transportation and box lunch.  If you're interested, contact Dixie Eng at 703-568-0583 or dixie.eng@gmail.com

NON-PERISHABLE SUMMER FOOD COLLECTION

Students who eat free and reduced price meals during the school year routinely rely on food pantries such as Rising Hope UMMC and UCM during summer months.  This results in food pantry shelves running lower for summer.  The prevalence of childhood hunger in our community is high.  These organizations rely even more on our help for our neighbors in need.  Suggested donations include low-sodium canned goods (meat, veggies, fruit), low-sugar cereals, rice, peanut butter, baby food, raisins, etc.  Donations can be left in the brown bins at the elevator entrance.

CHILDREN’S BOOK COLLECTION

United Community Ministries (UCM) is collecting new and gently used children’s books (all ages) to keep in the family services waiting room for children to take home with them. These books may be the only ones the children will have of their own. Please place books on the table on the right as you go through the glass door entrance.
