AUGUST FAMILY GAME NIGHT

Monthly Family Game Nights continues for the summer.  Join your church family

Saturday, August 4, starting at 7 p.m. for fun and fellowship in Fellowship Hall.  Come and try a new board game, or bring an old favorite to share.  Don't worry about being a beginner.  It's all about having fun (and good cookies).  Contact Tom Kays and Dot Keough for more details (703-765-3249).

ARE YOU INTERESTED IN MINISTRY WITH CHILDREN?

We are looking for people to serve on a rotational basis to lead children's moment during worship. If you would be interested in doing this on a monthly basis, once every other month, or somewhere in between, please speak with Pastor Jay. We want our children to hear and learn from multiple voices and for them to see many adults who are modeling and living Christian discipleship.

ANNUAL CHURCH YARD SALE

Friday, September 7 (9 am to 3 pm)  & Saturday, September 8  (8 am to 1 pm)

Donations of gently used items are now being accepted for our Church Yard Sale.

Donations can be placed on the stage behind the curtains.  Contact Dot Keough or

Virginia Campbell for more information.  This is a church-wide event, everyone is welcome and needed!

NON-PERISHABLE SUMMER FOOD COLLECTION

Students who eat free and reduced price meals during the school year routinely rely on food pantries such as Rising Hope UMMC and UCM during summer months.  This results in food pantry shelves running lower for summer.  The prevalence of childhood hunger in our community is high.  These organizations rely even more on our help for our neighbors in need.  Suggested donations include low-sodium canned goods (meat, veggies, fruit), low-sugar cereals, rice, peanut butter, baby food, raisins, etc.  Donations can be left in the brown bins at the elevator entrance.

CHILDREN’S BOOK COLLECTION

United Community Ministries (UCM) is collecting new and gently used children’s books (all ages) to keep in the family services waiting room for children to take home with them. These books may be the only ones the children will have of their own. Please place books on the table on the right as you go through the glass door entrance.
